Holiday Sparkle!

Posted by

We love the pairing of subtle and bold in this adventuresome holiday makeup look!
The strong glitter lip may not be for everyone, but a lighter variation coupled with a soft palette for eye and
complexion is a gorgeous way to dress up your regular makeup and celebrate the holidays!

Get the Look!

Whether you go powder-only, or apply foundation before setting it with a powder or loose mineral makeup,
this look definitely embraces the soft finish either will give you. Nothing is better for setting, evening-out or
finishing your makeup than a dusting of bareMinerals Original Loose Powder. With a broad spectrum SPF15,
it offers protection for day wear.

If you’re creating an evening look, use it generously to complement a bold lip, eye or brow.
We love it dusted lightly on temples, eyelashes and eyebrows to highlight and soften.
We especially love the small whoosh of blue across the center eyebrow in this look, an unorthodox way to use shadow and illuminate eye color. Secure eyebrows first with BrowGal’s Eyebrow Gel. Their clear gel and exacting wand brush will achieve and set just the shape you want.

These lashes are long but feathery with a soft coating of mascara; try jane iredale’s Pure Lash mascara in
Brown Black to step back a bit from to obvious go-to of Black mascara most of us wear.
Work on lash length proactively by applying a coat of Grande Lash nightly after cleansing so it may work its magic as you sleep...and work it does! Our beauty associates swear by it!

On to the lips! The gradation of the pink berry at corners to a sort of orange-red at lip center is beautiful,
and the glitter there serves to create texture and drama. For a similar look with out the weight or feel of glitter on your mouth, we look to NYX’s pigment powder in Crazed to add a pink mauve sparkle to a classic red lip, like smashbox’s Liquid Lipstick in Thrill Seeker, a creamy orange-red. Line and fill lips, then use a brush or fingertip to work pigment particles in to center of mouth and outward as far as you choose.

Finally, use a small powder brush and dust pigment powder lightly across top of cheek bone, hair line, brow bone or down the nose to add color and sparkle and tie your look together.

Voila! You are ready for a shimmery holiday outing!
